Interesting piece. If we want to reduce car use then we need to improve public transport and that means re franchising bus services outside London. Unfortunately provision a comprehensive and cheap bus network needs ongoing revenue support (provided in London by cross subsidy from the tube and, of course, car use is also disincentivised by the Congestion Charge/ULEZ). On a less positive note, I’m afraid that car drivers in Poynton have defaulted to their normal behaviour assuming they have right of way.
